Mathias ("Matt") Hunoval Founder, Hunoval Law Firm, PLLC & Member of the North Carolina Banking Commission
Matt founded his firm in 2009 with a singular focus: to raise the bar in the default servicing and origination (closings) legal arena. Prior legal experience includes stints at three (3) AmLaw 200 law firms in a wide array of corporate and transactional practice groups.
His firm primarily represents large financial institutions, many publicly-traded banks, servicers and originators which for many years have internally employed continual process improvement management analytics such as Six Sigma, Lean, TQM and related data-driven analytics to drive enterprise-wide efficiency gains and error rate reduction. These same powerful process analytics animate the core management philosophy of the Hunoval Law Firm and yield robust client dividends in terms of faster timelines and lower error rates.
Matt frequently speaks at conferences and CLEs on his firm’s journey down the continual process improvement path, most recently speaking in late January at PEX (Process Excellence) week 2016 to an audience of Fortune 500 executives and giving a presentation titled "Innovation in Lean Six Sigma Application: Transforming Legal Spend From a Cost Center Into a Positive ROI."
In addition to his private practice, Matt is active in the policy and political arenas and was appointed by Gov. McCrory to the North Carolina Banking Commission in March 2014.
